Blog Post Week 2 Part B
Home | Loved by Luna Beauty (lovedxluna.com)
Loved By Luna is a small local business. It is a 100% WOF-owned beauty company that's dedicated to creating handcrafted and cruelty-free eyelashes as well as other beauty accessories. It often gives back to its communities and non-profits. Loved By Luna's goal is to emprace diverstiy, inclusion, and embrace beauty of all individuals. Loved by Luna was founded by pro make-up artist Crystal Ciara. I acutally got to met her while working for Targets beauty department. Loved by Luna is visibly using Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, Email, and Etsy that can be found linked to their official website. You are able to find them just by googling their brand name. The most used social media I can see that they are more active on is Instagram and Etsy. It has more of a following and seems most updated. It post daily/monthly. Her twitter seems like it is used the least because she has only 7 followers and her latest post was on the 29th. I would estimate monthy or even yearly. On Facebook she has 38 likes and 40 people following and her last post was on August 29th. Instagram she has 128 posts and 375 followers and her latest post was August 29th but her recent story was 2 days ago. Etsy also has a direct link. She would have 189 sales and 80 admirers and was not able to see her recent activity on there.
I would say Loved By Luna has a great interactive social media platform on Instagram. It seems like she is most comfortable using it than all others. She interacts well with her customers by reposting customer photos and answering questions in her comment section. She keeps her feed trendy and flow's quite nice. Her website is also very easy to manage and user friendly. While researching her social media I actually had some ideas on way for her to be able to gain her followers on all platforms. I think she just needs tobe more consistent and definitly start reaching out to larger "influencer" that could help her with more exposure. With small businesses like this, there are always ways to grow and especially with a message like hers.
DIOSA FITDiosa Fit is a latina owned fitness apparel brand. Their focus is on athletic atire, like shorts, leggings, tops, sweaters. and sportsbras. Diane, the founder, created this brand in 2020 after not feeling seen while working with other brands she often modeled cloths for. She first hand was able to expeerience how alot of these brands cater to a certain body type and look, and thats when she decided to part ways and start creating a path she knew was very much needed. Her target consumers is anyone that wants to challenge these impossible beauty standard. She gained her following by selling fitness plans for others who needed a guide and wanted to challenge themselves, which bloomed into this amazing community of people lifting eachother up. You are able to find them by just looking them up on google. Their main social platform it uses is Instagram and Twitter which is also linked to their website, by just scrolling down to where it says "Get Connected." Her instagram has 252 post and a following of 26.6k. Her twitter has 91 tweets and has a following of 270. Her last tweet was September 4th, 2021. Instagram is the most active of her social medias. Her last post was 22 hours ago but her latest story was like an hour ago. She post hourly/daily. I have noticed she also has done some TicTok videos but it was hard for me to find her account since alot of the reposted videos were often from other supporters. She repost customer photos and post them on her feed as well as inspirational/motivating quotes. Her feed is vibrance and appealing to the eye.
After analysing and researching her business social media I have came to the conclution that Instagram is her main social media that she uses. Her social media is very well interactive. Constantly asking for imput and feedbacks on her clothing wile using an "ask box." She often repost customers photos of them wearing her clothing. She often does sales that get her alot of exposure. I think she is using it very efficiantly but like always I think twitter can use some work and can become more interactive. Her website is also very easy to work. It is well organized and very vibrant like her clothing. Something I did notice on her website while browsing to see what I was going to buy is that most of her large sizes are almost always sold out. So this makes me think that she really does cater to larger body types which has been a goal of hers. Making sure everyone feels like they belong in her clothing.
DERMALOGICA
Dermalogica® Skin Care | Official Site
Dermalogica was founded by a skin therapist names Jane Wurwand since 1986. Even their packaging which included the paper and cartons are FSC certified to be sustainable for forests. They believe in catering to everyones specific needs and trainging more than 100,000 skin therapist in more than 80 countiries per year. This would make them an international company. Some of their social medias are Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Youtube, and LinkedIn. On Facebook they have 297,940 followers and their latest post was September 3, 2021 which was a live where customers could ask a skin therapist questions and from what I saw i think they use this account daily. On twitter they have 49.3K followers. Their last post was on August 5th but have retweeded a couple post after that. This account looked like maybe it was used daily or maybe monthly. Their Instagram account has 2,222 post and over 552k followers and last post would be 23 hours ago but their last story was 3 hours ago. This account seemed to be used hourly/daily. On Youtube their last video post was about a week ago but has about 17.3K subscribers so I assume it is used weekly or even monthly. Their LinkedIn account was actually broken so I was not able to see it.
Dermalogica uses their social medias efficiantly and is very interactive. Since they are a larger business and have become well known they seem to have more of a handle on it. Their whole purpose is to educate and provide services and products that are customized to each of their customer. They do lives almost weekly where their followers can ask a Dermelogica dermatologist on whats recommendable for their skin concerns. Since this brand has a training program this opens them to an even bigger market of clientel. I believe the bigger the compony, the bigger amount of employees, the bigger the exposer.
BEAUTY CREATIONS
Beauty Creations is a cosmetics national company. It was founded in 2016 by latina owned Esmeralda Hernandes. Growing up she worked with her mother at the swap meet at age 12, and by the time she was 15 she was running her own business in the perfume and hair industry. While working there she saw the demand for beauty at an affordable cost. This is when she was on a journey with creating a quality product without breaking the bank. So she did, and made sure that her products was created to make it accessible to everyone. They provide cruelty-free beauty cosmetics that are expanding from eyes, lips, face, and other collaberations that they often do with influencers. Their main social media is Facebook and Instagram. On Facebook they have 374,075 followers and 314,308 likes. Their last post was posted 30 minutes ago, so 9/7/2021. Their Instagram has 3,158 poats and have 1.2 million followers. Their last post was posted also posted 34 minutes today.
Beauty Creations website is very well organized with many catagories to help you find what you are looking for. Their social media layout is very organized and appealing to the eye. You are able to find them on social media because they are all intertwined and linked. It seems that they use all their social medias equally. They are up to day and are very interactive with their followers and customer. I can tell they do alot of collaberations with new and old Influencers that gain them major exposure.
SIMON LIMON
Home | Simón Limón (shopsimonlimon.com)
Simon Limon is a small local popshop owned by Alexandra Peres Demma. It was opened on August 2018. It is located in Barrio Logan in a small 180sqft space where it showcases over 40 smaller business and artist that are from San Digeo, Los Angeles, and Tijuana. They sell cards and stationery items, home decor, and jewelry. Their website can be found just being searched on google. Some of their social media platforms that they use is LinkedIn, Instagram, Yelp, and Facebook. On LinkedIn she has 89 connections and im not really sure how to tell if shes active on there or not. On Instagram they have 495 posts and 5,776 followers. Their last post was published 3 days ago, but had a story post 3 hours ago. They have a link that connects them to their shop website. On Facebook they have 593 likes and 652 followers and 46 check-ins. Their last post was published on September 4th. This is the only shop that I found that didnt have their social media on their website, so I had to really search for them.
Their Instagram page was easy to access and which has a link to their website. They are constantly posting on there for upcoming sales, events, and new merchandise. Unfortiantly, when I was on their website there is no link to their social media's. I think this makes it harder to be found and harder to be exposed to more customers and followers. This is something that should she should fix.
After analyzing all my research. What I have realized that it is important to intertwine all platforms of social media with each other. This allows followers and consumers to be able to find you easier. Another thing I saw that was important to making a business successful is to make it interactive and being consistent! Seeing Beatuy Creations and Dermalogica be so successful with their social media, I can only imagine how much they make marketing their products all because of the enourmous following that they have. Another thing I noticed was that Twitter is really falling behind. I think it works for already a large following businesses. I dont see small business being able to utilize it as much and be successful in creating a large following. The one I see in common is Instagram. Im not surprised because it is probably the most used social media at the moment. I think it is where you can find almost all businesses and I believe it gives all businesses a chance to be reached almost everywhere in the world.

I think being consistent is very important with businesses! With times moving so quickly these days, it is easy for consumers to forget about businesses and move one to whatever the next big trend is!
